Abstract

This study was done to develop of tool for assessment family health condition in restoration stage of disaster area. The instrument used for this study was Roy's adaptation model and the subjects were sampled resident 451 at three places in Kyunggi-do where disaster due to water had been occurred frequently from October 20 to October 30, 2000.
The results by the process of tool development are as follows;
1. Finally, it consists of 8 questionnaires of focus-stimulation from and 30 questionnaires of family-adaptation form. 5 questionnaires that its values of Corrected Item-Total Correlation were under 0.2 and 10 questionnaires that its values of Corrected Item-Total Correlation were under 0.3 were excepted.
2. 30 questionnaires of family-adaptation form are divided into 4 factors by the result of factor-analysis of PCA and VARIMAX in order to check the structure validity.
The 1st factor was consisted of 9 questionnaires of family role area, the 2nd factor was consisted of 5 questionnaires of family self concept, the 3rd factor was consisted of 4 questionnaires of physiologic functional area, and the 4th factor was consisted of 3 questionnaires of external environment and inter-relational area. And remained 9 questionnaires were excepted because those were under the factor-sampling standard.
3. The reliability of 8 questionnaires of focus-stimulation form was Cronbach's Alpha Coefficient=0.5951, and 21 questionnaires of family-adaptation form was Cronbach Alpha Coefficient=0.8868.
4. According to above result, it was developed 8 questionnaires of focus-stimulation form and 30 questionnaires of family-adaptation form
Suggestion basis on this study are as follows;
1. Further studies should be done repeatedly in the other communities where damage degree of disaster and restoration state are different.
2. It is necessary to develop the tool to assess the disaster area more comprehensively.
